The force behind Milionaires for Humanity
Human Act was established by Djaffar Shalchi in March 2016. His goal was simple yet profound: to give back to the society that had given him so much and to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive. He firmly believes that no one is “self-made” and that we all have a responsibility to contribute to the well-being of others.
Human Act's Mission
Human Act’s mission took a new turn with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which exposed and exacerbated the deep-rooted issue of global wealth inequality. Djaffar recognized the urgent need for a systemic solution and launched the Move Humanity initiative, calling on the world’s wealthiest individuals to contribute at least 1% of their wealth annually to support the Sustainable Development Goals.
Millionaires for Humanity emerged as a key part of this vision, mobilizing high-net-worth individuals to advocate for a global wealth tax. Djaffar’s unwavering belief in the power of a 1% wealth tax to fund critical global needs, save the planet, and create a more just world drives his work and inspires our movement.
