Georgios Samaras

“I acknowledge the advantages of my upbringing and regard them as a responsibility in my roles as both an academic and a policy activist. My principal focus is advocating for a wealth tax and curbing extreme concentration of wealth, since I am convinced that genuine sustainability depends on radical reforms that protect the interests of the working class and narrow the gap between rich and poor.

Beyond fiscal justice, my activism addresses several urgent global challenges: reinforcing the integrity of democratic processes, securing an end to the genocide in Palestine, defending human rights—especially those of LGBTQ individuals—and reforming border regimes to foster welcoming approaches to migration and asylum across Western nations.”

Dr Georgios Samaras is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Public Policy at the School for Government and Policy Institute, King’s College London.
