Dieter Lehmkuhl

It’s time to push for a fairer distribution of socially-generated wealth. From a society of prosperity for all we have turned into one of prosperity for the few.

It’s a big myth that the wealth of the few benefits us all. Hard work and skills are not the primary reason for excessive wealth accumulation. It’s time to push for a fairer distribution of socially-generated wealth and a greater responsibility for the rich in financing urgent societal needs as a way out of the Covid crisis and as a way to tackle climate change, poverty and inequality. More balanced societies are better for (almost) all.

Dr Lehmkuhl worked as a doctor and psychotherapist and headed the social psychiatric service in Berlin-Reinickendorf, Dr Lehmkuhl was also a founding member of the German Society for Social Psychiatry (DGSP). Dr Lehmkuhl has been a long term advocate for a wealth tax specifically in Germany partnering with the group “Vermoegende für eine Vermoegensabgabe”.
